Hiya,

Back online after a long break with the family, visiting other family, and then just generally being sloths for the last few days. All very enjoyable.

My Solstice haul was good!

Bladerunner Ultimate Collectors Edition, in a wonderful briefcase with origami unicorn and a little 'spinner' car.
Scrubs - Series 6

Boston Legal - Series 1,2 & 3

H.R. Pufnstuf - Complete series!! (and this show is even weirder than I remembered it. If only they would now bring out the 'Tomfoolery Show' on DVD I'd be able to regress back to my childhood permanently)

Tobruk (book) by Peter Fitzsimmons - another text for my ongoing research both for a novel, and to know more about my great-grandfather who was a 'Rat'.

Marilyn Manson albums "Portait of an American Family", and "Smells Like Children" - the only two I did not have in my CD collection.

Various items of clothing, and food including much chocolate and a bottle of Maker's Mark bourbon from a client.

Other than watching most of the DVDs and eating most of the chocolate, we spent our time chatting with relatives and generally just lazing around whilst the kids ran riot with their own solstice haul of goodies... although my eldest didn't actually run riot, he just stayed in a room and read the D&D 3.5 Players Handbook and Dungeon Masters Guide I bought him. The only sound we heard from him the entire holiday was the rattling of dice.

We went and saw 'The Golden Compass' and all enjoyed it a lot. It is very fast, there is a lot crammed into this relatively short movie. If you haven't read the books you might  have a little trouble keeping up, but my 11 and 9yr old both loved it and neither have read the books. The actress who played Lyra was great, as was Pan and Iorek. Sam Eliot was wonderful as Lee Scoresby, but then I think he's great in every film he's been in. I kept expecting him to tell Lyra that 'the Dude abides' though ;)

Gotta catch up on the work and emails now, but I'll be back later, probably when I get a little bored of working :)
