Andrew J McKiernan is an author, illustrator and graphic designer working from the New South Wales Central Coast. His illustrations have appeared in Aurealis, Orb Speculative Fiction and the Black Box e-anthology, and he was a featured illustrator in 2005's Australian Speculative Fiction: A Genre Overview.
Recent illustrations have appeared in the Eneit Press anthology In Bad Dreams, and 39 black & white plates are featured in Shards: Short Sharp Tales from Brimstone Press (April 2009).
His first published story, "Calliope: A Steam Romance" appeared in the Shadow Plays anthology and was listed as recommended reading for the 200 Years Best Australian Fantasy and Science Fiction.
Other stories have appeared in the Masques anthology from CSFG and Aurealis #42. Future storiews are scheduled to appear in Macabre: A Journey hrough Australian Horror, In Bad Dreams 2: Where Death Stalks and Midnight Echoes #2. He also writes and illustrates the regular column and comic strip "Black Roads, Dark Highways" for Black: Australian Dark Culture magazine.
