I feel like I'm losing it lately. Web-coding is driving me mad and I've really had enough. Just the though of coding more PHP or ColdFusion is seriously making me feel nauseous, and I'm getting cranky very easily. Everytime I sit down at my PC and start up my Apache server, I get a sinking feeling in my gut. I get snappy with the wife and the kids because I can never really get snappy with the client.

Mainly, I've had enough.

I'm fed up with always having to learn new languages, new coding practices and new technologies - most of which are nothing more than fads that clients insist they need. Fads that will be cliché within a month. Fads that add no value to a website other than a bit of flashiness and increased download times for the visitor.

I'm fed up with clients who have no real idea about what works for websites and what doesn't telling me that they MUST have X, Y or Z even though it will make their sites unusable to many users.

I'm fed up with clients thinking everything can be done with a quick five minutes work.

But, basically, I'm just fed up with websites.

I know I've said it before, but this time it is for real... this job I'm working on now is THE VERY LAST commercial website I create for a client. NEVER AGAIN!

If I don't stop and get out of this industry I'm going to give myself an ulcer, a stroke or a heart-attack.

NO MORE WEBSITES FOR COMMERCIAL CLIENTS EVER!!!!!!
